A motorcycle technician training program typically takes anywhere from 9 months to 2 years to complete, depending upon the program. Certificate programs are available that generally last for less than a year; although some people find that an associate degree is more valuable. Courses are taken in regards to electrical systems, engines, and transmission systems. Many programs also offer a pathway to certification, too, which is required by many states. Those with experience in this area find that they are able to work with a variety of small engines.
