Dental Technician Schools in Dallas

 

A dental technician works with dentists in order to make orthodontic appliances, crowns, dentures, bridges, and veneers. A dentist typically sends a technician a model of their patient's mouth alongside a prescription for the type of bridge, denture, or crown that is required. A technician then uses the mold or impression to create a plaster cast of the mouth. Technicians work with a variety of materials and specialized tools. They might also specialize in creating ceramics, partial dentures, full dentures, or orthodontic appliances. Education at a vocational school or specialized school is often required for employment and jobs can normally be found in manufacturing companies, dental offices, dental labs, and even as instructors.
