Things to See & Do:
Dallas
- State Fair of Texas is held annually in the fall. Wave to Big Tex, who towers over the fair to welcome more than three million visitors each year.

- The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is a permanent, historical exhibit on the life, death, and legacy of President John F. Kennedy.

- Uptown is accessible via a free ride on the McKinney Ave. Trolley. Historic homes, galleries, antique shops, theaters, restaurants, and more.
Fort Worth
- The Stockyards National Historic District celebrates the mystique of the Old West in 15 blocks of traditional fun: rodeo, country stars, and the world's only daily cattle drive.
- National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame honors the women of the American West, their pioneer spirit and uncommon courage.
- Sundance Square downtown has movies, nightclubs, stores, theaters, galleries, restaurants, as well as the Bass Performance Hall.
- The Fort Worth Zoo is considered one of the best in the U.S.
- Kimbell Art Museum has a focused and extremely high quality collection. The building itself is a work of art.
Nightlife:
The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex offers many opportunities for food and fun. Remember, you must be 21 to order alcohol, and to even be admitted in certain venues.
Dallas
- Gilley's is a Dallas tradition, combining the best country music has to offer with a downhome, honky-tonk feel. There's plenty of room to dance or ride the famous mechanical bull.
- Deep Ellum Entertainment District in the eastern corridor of downtown Dallas is a blooming night spot with pioneering theater, nightclubs, restaurants, and stores.
Fort Worth
- The downtown sidewalks of Sundance Square fill up at night for as folks enjoy the restaurants, night clubs, and theaters.
- Billy Bob's Texas is a Fort Worth landmark and the world's largest honky-tonk. It boasts an indoor rodeo arena for professional bull riding, a massive dance floor, restaurants, arcade games, celebrity handprints on the Wall of Fame, even a general store.

Sports:
Dallas is home to the Cowboys (football). DFW also has five pro baseball teams: Texas Rangers, Frisco Roughriders, Fort Worth Cats, Tarrant Blue Thunder, and Grand Prairie AirHogs; plus the Mavericks (basketball), the Brahmas (hockey), and FC Dallas Soccer. The area has many large lakes providing ample water sports and recreation, as well as parks, bicycle trails, golf courses, and tennis courts.
Transportation:
Since Dallas and Fort Worth are both large cities sprawling over many square miles, assume that you'll need a car. DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) provides rail service to many areas, including the airport, and is planning to expand its service area. The T (Fort Worth Transportation Authority) provides busses, car pool vans, and commuter rail.
